Message from The Minister of Investment Promotion, Togo

In a two-day trade and investment Mission to Lome on the 18th and19th of June, 2024 organized by the British Government directing her investors to move investments into the Republic of Togo, the Minister of Investment Promotion, Mrs. Manuella Santos gave a heart-warming speech in which she invited investors, business partners, and entrepreneurs to come to Togo and do business.

  1. 1. “I’m truly honored, and glad to welcome you, with profound optimism to this momentous occasion. On behalf of the Honorable Minister of Investment Promotion, Mrs. Manuella SANTOS, I extend our sincere gratitude to you, distinguished guests, for joining us in this endeavor to foster deeper economic ties and robust investment opportunities between our two nations.

  1. 2. Fellow guests, dear friends, our country and yours enjoy a good relationship, recently strengthen with our adhesion to the Commonwealth. However, we need to take steps to unlock the full potential of this bilateral cooperation and create opportunities for economic partnerships between our private sectors. We understand each other’s needs. Your expertise is well-established, and Togo is undoubtedly ready to welcome you.

  1. 3. Togo’s accession to the Commonwealth in 2022 marked a new era in its international relations, broadening horizons and opening new avenues for cooperation and development. This membership has enhanced diplomatic and economic ties with the United Kingdom, and today’s trade mission is a tangible step towards realizing the full potential of this partnership.

  1. 4. Under the leadership of Head of State, His Excellency Mr Faure Essozimna GNASSINGBE, the government has implemented significant reforms, improving infrastructure, energy, telecommunications and legal framework to create a conducive environment for investment. These reforms come from the commitment to build a strong economic foundation that will benefit both local and international investors.

  1. 5. “The Ministry of Investment Promotion and API-ZF are dedicated to facilitating your endeavors every step of the way. We offer a range of services to assist investors, from navigating regulatory requirements to providing market insights and identifying potential partners. Our goal is to make your investment experience in Togo as smooth and rewarding as possible.”

  1. 6. “Moreover, Togo offers a plethora of opportunities in the agro-industry, textile sector, digital innovation, and infrastructure development. Fertile lands, strategic location, and growing digital ecosystem provide an adequate ground for investments that can drive economic growth and create jobs. Professor Chris Onalo, Registrar/CEO, National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA) Chartered was among the delegates to the trade mission.

Having asked series of questions, observed economic activities of the people in the City of Lome, and visited key government officials, the Republic of Togo is seriously determined to attract investors, top business leaders, and courageous entrepreneurs to invest in this land of hospitality and prosperity where things work, including security.
