The National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA), a distinguished chartered Institute, is proud to present the National Credit Managers Conference 2024, themed “Credit Grows Green Economy.” This landmark event, scheduled to be held in Lagos, Nigeria from October 22nd to 24th, 2024, is set to be a transformative gathering that will bring together all critical stakeholders in the credit management profession and industry to address the crucial role of credit in fostering a sustainable and resilient economy.

The highlights of the event include the following:

 NICA Conference: A gathering of NICA members, thought leaders, and experts as they share insights on the latest trends and challenges in credit management.

 Nigerian Credit Industry Award: Celebrating the achievements of outstanding credit managers and industry leaders who have significantly contributed to the growth and stability of Nigeria’s credit sector.

 Honourary Fellowship Awards: Special recognition for eminent individuals who have contributed to the growth of the economy and the peace of their community, and advocated for a resilient and people-centred economy for the good people of Nigeria.

 Graduation of MCMAIP Students and Other Graduates: Recognize our graduates’ hard work and dedication as they achieve this important milestone.

The conference is anticipated to feature a stellar lineup of guests of honour, including His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to formally declare the conference open, several State Governors, and revered Royal Fathers, two of whom will be honoured with NICA’s prestigious Honorary Fellowship Award for their outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s economic development. The National Credit Managers Conference will feature distinguished lineups of speakers, starting with Amb. Chris J. Maiyaki, the Ag. Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), who has confirmed his participation and will deliver the keynote address. Other expected Special Guest Speakers are:

Engineer Uzoma Nwagba, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), who will speak on “The Role of Consumer Credit in Economic Development: The Relevance, Progress, and Future;”

Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission is expected to discuss “How Business Information at CAC Supports Effective Credit Management in the Economy;”

Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN, the President-Elect of the Nigerian Bar Association will explore “An Examination of Issues that Undermine Debt Recovery through Litigation in Nigeria and Solutions to the Various Obstacles;” and

Olufemi Muraino, FICA, Executive Director (Business Transformation & Innovation Unit) Inlaks, to address “How Credit Propels Economic Growth.”

Their anticipated contributions will enrich the conference and provide valuable insights into key areas of credit administration.

This conference which will gather over 10,000 (in-person and virtual) delegates is not merely an event but a convergence of all Nigeria’s credit stakeholders, from government representatives to corporate organisations, participants from both the formal and informal sectors and civil society organisations.
